Meet Matthew G. and Matthew K.! They live in Vancouver, BC where Matthew G. works as a Branch Manager at Business Development Bank of Canada and Matthew K. works as a Mortgage Broker. Matthew K.’s sister is their egg donor and a both of their families are huge supporters of their journey to parenthood. They are both very sweet and hope to have a good connect with their surrogate.

Quick overview on a few things you need to know about becoming a surrogate in Canada: 

  • You must be a female of 21-49 years of age

  • Have delivered one or more child(ren) of your own

  • Have experienced healthy pregnancies and births

  • Lead a healthy lifestyle and be physically/mentally healthy in general

Surrogates in Canada are: 

  • Reimbursed all of their expenses. (average $20,000-30,000)

  • Can apply for 15 weeks of maternity leave (if eligible)

  • Have independent legal representation and a legal contract

  • Will travel to the Intended Parents clinic - all costs covered
