Robert and Valantis

 

Meet Robert and Valantis. They live in Berlin, Germany where Valantis is a Teacher at a Vocational College and Robert is Head of Financial Controlling. They got to know each other in 2008. Robert was still in his apprenticeship as a real estate agent and came originally from Berlin and Valantis was in the middle of his studies. Robert originally moved to Cologne (a city in the western part of Germany) just for his apprenticeship. Then he met Valantis and since then he didn't look back . In 2015 they got married and can't wait to start their family!

"For many couples becoming a parent is a matter of consideration, for us it was already at the beginning of our relationship the most natural thing in the world :-) We have been a couple for almost 15 years and got married in 2015. We started thinking about having children at a very early stage of our relationship. For us it means fulfilling the dream of our relationship. A promise to our future together and an extension of our love for each other. Short and sweet it would mean the world to us."

Quick overview on a few things you need to know about becoming a surrogate in Canada: 

  • You must be a female of 21-49 years of age

  • Have delivered one or more child(ren) of your own

  • Have experienced healthy pregnancies and births

  • Lead a healthy lifestyle and be physically/mentally healthy in general

Surrogates in Canada are: 

  • Reimbursed all of their expenses. (average $20,000-30,000)

  • Can apply for 15 weeks of maternity leave (if eligible)

  • Have independent legal representation and a legal contract

  • Will travel to the Intended Parents clinic - all costs covered
