Daan and Jaap

 

Meet Daan and Jaap. They met over six years ago and they married in March 2022. Jaap and Daan currently live in Amsterdam and will soon move to a new home just outside of Amsterdam, surrounded by nature. Jaap works as a legal advisor and Daan is a primary school teacher.

Quick overview on a few things you need to know about becoming a surrogate in Canada: 

  • You must be a female of 21-49 years of age

  • Have delivered one or more child(ren) of your own

  • Have experienced healthy pregnancies and births

  • Lead a healthy lifestyle and be physically/mentally healthy in general

Surrogates in Canada are: 

  • Reimbursed all of their expenses. (average $20,000-30,000)

  • Can apply for 15 weeks of maternity leave (if eligible)

  • Have independent legal representation and a legal contract

  • Will travel to the Intended Parents clinic - all costs covered
