Dara and Kiwan

Meet Dara and Kiwan. They live in Port Moody, BC where Dara works as an Economist with the BC Public Service and Kiwan is an Elevator Mechanic. They met on New Years Eve in 2002 at an outdoor celebration in downtown Vancouver. Right after the countdown, they wished each other a Happy New Year and started talking. They've now been together for 20 years and married for 4 years, and are very ready to start their family!

"After the baby is born, we hope to have a lifelong friendship with our surrogate in which we share our lives with and morally support each other, and have fun, memorable experiences together. Over the long term, we would ideally meet regularly by video chat or in person, allowing enough time together that we can get through small talk and connect on a more intimate level. We both strongly believe in the importance of holding space together in-person for building and maintain a fulfilling relationship, so if our surrogate happens to be in or near greater Vancouver, it would be nice for some of these interactions to be in person - we could get together for a coffee, a walk or dinner etc. If our surrogate is in a different province, we would still like to meet in person periodically. We think a visit every one to three years would be practical, depending on how far away we live from each other."
